I have an older Rossi 40, mid to late 80's version. It still runs strong, but it has not been used much. Is there a place I can send it to get checked out real well for wear or bearing condition etc.? It most likely needs some new bearings, but I try not to go inside engines, cause I screw them up when I do. So who can I send it to? Is there a web site or e-mail address where I could find out what a new set of bearings would cost for this engine? Thanks for any help. 2fast4u.

Of anyplace that works on Rossi engines per se. Changing the bearings is pretty easy and straight forward as far as engine work goes. Buy a set of bearings and I'll bet we can walk you thru the process. If you are totally uncomfortable, send it to me and I'll put them in no charge.

If you want, send the engine and new bearings to me and I will clean it and replace the bearing free of charge. I have over 30 years experience with model engines, and pretty much take care of all the engines at our local field. I will ask that you send $3 to cover the shipping back to you. Email me if you want this service.
