Default engine is squicking

Just statrted my fl 70. Richened the aribleed and runs great. But now the engine is squicking and kills itself instantly at idol. I started it up again but the problem got worse and the squicking was very loud. I killed the engine on my transmitter in fear of something bad happening to it. What the heak is it. Anyideas. I guy at my field said you have to maintain the valves every 20 flights. Could this be the problem. I have one flight on it and have run the engine at least 15 times breaking it in and trying to get it running right.
Thanks

Try turning it over by hand to see if you can feel any roughness of the bearings or any places it catches.

It an ABC engine. Maybe it's too cold? And you are hearing the piston squeak in the cylinder?

Also, you might look at the rockers and see if they need oiling. If the rockers
are dry....check the cambox as well.

Sounds like your running too rich and not allowing the engine to heat up and establish good running clearances. A squeek at TDC is normal on a cold ABC engine because of the interference tolerence between the piston and cylinder. When starting a new ABC engine you should bring the RPM to close to max as soon as possible to allow the cylinder to expand to running tolerences. Only other potential problem could be gummed up bearings.

Hey guys, the problem was that the prop nut had loostened itself, I tightened it and the squicking is gone.

Squicking is like squeaking but with a deeper tone. You know, squick, squick, squick.

Squicking is like squeaking but with a deeper tone. You know, squick, squick, squick. Generally caused by a loose prop nut.
I don't know what squeeking is. May be a combination of squeaking and squeeling.

I can honestly say that I have never squicked or squeeked. I will check with the wife, but I don't think I have ever done either, though!
