Prop size
I have not flown for years and recently built a Telemaster .40. I installed an old Super Tigre .46 in it. I can't find my paperwork and want to know what the best prop size would be. I have 10-5, 11-5 and 11-7 props right now.

Thank you. I will be flying again after a 20 year layoff due to lack of a place to fly since I moved. I have to start from scratch with a new JR radio.
My old Futaba cost me three planes when I lost all control. It would work great for months and then just do nothing, even with a fully charged battery. I sent it back and they sent me a new one with new servos and it would do the same thing. It would fly great, then all of a sudden, I had nothing, no throttle, ailerons, stab, just zero and crash.

Try the 11-5 first. 
Futaba had a problem with bad swithches for the on/off on the plane. Many
planes were lost due to the power cutting off to the reciever. I lost a few planes
myself. I no longer use Futaba switches for that reason, I buy the aftermarket
switches from Cermark.
I fly Futaba radios, they are fine. You must have a crisp "snap/feel" to the
switches. If they are "soft" or do not have a crisp feel....don't use them.

Welcom back. All models seem destine to crash, at least we can walk away from the crashes. Do check you connections, a lot of glitches are really bad connections.
I would think a 11 X 6 would be the standard for that engine, so 11 X 5 or 11 X 7 would work. Go to www.masterairscrew.com, they have an excellent technical page on props sizes and prop speeds, etc. Good reading on how to do it.

Hi!
You should choose an 11x5-11x6 or 12x4 APC prop! 11x7 is not suitable for a big 1800cm span slow flying model.
Stay away from black MA props, they are useless performance wise and noisy.Scimitar MA are better though.
