Default ALUMINUM Beer BOTTLE pipe???

Hey guys,

Has anyone out there made a pipe out of one of the new Budweiser Aluminum Beer Bottles?

I'm thinking of making one up for use on a ST G90...

If anyone's already done it, how did it perform?

Thanks in advance,

Brian

I thought bottles were made of glass or plastic. Cans were metal.

What size is that can??? I want to see one.... My mousse can is working good on the G90. It is about 6 1/2 x 2". Using the 7/8" diameter Mac's header (not the 3/4" one that WILL fit the 90 but is intended for the 60 and 75 ST's). Have only shortened the header by 1" so far. They are about 9" in length stock, could go shorter for high end, but it pulls like a tractor and still has good top end this way.

It's a 16 ounce bottle so it will probably be quite large and heavy:

But it would look cool.

I have had my hands on quite a few of these, but I think it is double walled and to heavy, but it sure keeps the bear cool.

Yep, the one I have is similar to the one pictured above... except it's Bud Select...

Actually, it's quite light.

I haven't dissected one yet, but it does not appear to be double-walled. My specimen has a small dent in one side, and the dent is just as evident inside as it is outside... If it is double walled, then the clearance between the inside and outside is very small.

The aluminum bottle measures 9.5 inches tall, and 2 5/16 inches in outside diameter at the base. The neck opening measures 13/16 inside diameter, and 1 inch outside diameter.

It's nearly the perfect shape for a pipe [8D]... I'm just hoping it isn't too large to work on my ST G90...

More technical info on the aluminum bottle:

http://www.aluminum.org/ANTemplate.c...ContentID=8468

It's an interesting article... and it only says that there is 3 times the aluminum in these bottles than in a regular beer can. This is also printed on the bottle itself. It does not say anything about it being double walled or anything exotic like that...

I wish I had a good scale to weigh this thing on... I'd say it weighs about 2 ounces approximately, with my calibrated elbow...[&:] It really is fairly light, very similar to a mousse can.

If I'm not mistaken I think those bottles have a liner made of some sort of plastic. The liner keeps the aluminum taste from getting into the beer.

I still like the taste of glass bottles better

Very interesting! Maybe someone will make one that is a little narrower which would be good, not quite so draggy. The "neck" makes a great divergent cone for the expantion part of the chamber in a resonant system. The neck size might be fine for JB Welding a 7/8" thinwall tube into (right size for the G90 header coupling)

The mousse can arena is expanding!
