There's no real good reason to bring up the old 2300 thread, but I do have some news. I've been flying my goldberg sukhoi with the 2300 and a 16-10 prop. Reliability is perfect, and throttling is very good. The only thing the engine won't do is quit when you close the throttle. Oh well. I flew yesterday in the heat, and noticed above average performance from the engine and the airplane. I had more speed, better throttling, and more raw power. It was one of the hottest days for me, so this didn't make sense. It was only after I got home that I realized that the fuel I ran was given to me, and it was 15% Omega. I'd been running 10% Omega. My point is, the nitro made a noticeable difference in the flying of my 11# model. I'm seriously thinking about trying some YS 20/20 Powermaster next time. I've been tuning the engine by ear, so I don't have any tach numbers to share. I richen it noticeably from peak to be on the safe side, probably 500 rpm or more. The engine with the Bisson pitts muffler using one exhaust tube makes a nice sound, that's not much different from the gassers.
