Default Moki 2.10 ????

The Old Man bought me a spanky new GP Pitts Special for Christmas. I am thinking about an engine and the Moki 2.10 looks like it could get the nod. No one at our field has one and I have no idea what their track record is. If they are anything like the other Mokis I have seen odds are it will be perfect.
My birthday is coming up and I might push my luck and lobby for one .

Any experienced users out there ?

Default Moki 2.10 ????

LF,
I have a Moki 2.10 on my 80" Lanier CAP 232. I haven't gotten it completely figured out yet, but I love it. In fact, I bought one for my new GP 1/3 Pitts, too! If you get one, learn from my experimentation - use a good quality prop. I tried a Zinger, but it didn't work well at all. I now fly with a Mejzlik 20X10 and it works great. Also, I was told to use an OS F plug. This, too, works great.
The Moki in my CAP is on its side and I don't use any type of pump/regulator (Bisson Pitts muffler) - set the main needle a little on the rich side and the engine still pulls like a work horse without going lean. Also, I've found the idle mixture setting to be very sensitive...very sensitive - make only tiny changes to this.
I'm trying to find an engine mount that will work with my 1/3 Pitts. I bought the radial Moki back plate mount, but it's too big for the engine box. Have you heard anything with this regard?
Get the Moki. Although it's a bit of a heavy drinker, you won't regret it.

Default Engine box

Stag, I'm curious about something, I have that same radial mount on my MDS 2.18, and it doesn't seem very large at all. Maybe the Lanier Cap has a small mounting box. Also I had to drill and tap the radial mount for the remote needle. No big deal. LF you won't be disappointed in the Moki quality, my .61 longStroke is a jewel.

hobbsy,
The Moki radial engine mount would work just fine on the Lanier CAP - there's plenty of room on the front of the engine box. It won't, however, work on my new GP 1/3 Pitts!....my new baby. The diameter of the mount is 4.5 inches.
P.S. What do you think of the MDS 2.18? I saw it for less than $200.

Default MDS 2.18

Stag, so far I love it, it is smooth, has not offered to quit for any reason and does not stumble or smoke in the midrange. I am hesitant to say much good about it, some rude obnoxious people think it is a sin to say good things about engines they don't like, and go straight to name calling. It had a great idle without touching the low speed needle and is a one backflip starter everytime after priming. So I'm just going to quietly enjoy the 2.18 and only say something when someone asks me directly.
