Default G-90 Starting problems.

I have my supertigre engine suned well and when I try to start it after stopping for a while the engine wont start. There is in the carb and the glow plug works fine. What could the problem be??

It is not uncommon for engines to have a problem restarting once up to normal operating temperature. It can be overcome, in some instances, but you will have to study your engine and its ways in order to understand what is needed to get it going again while very warm. Sometimes waiting a little longer is the only thing that works short of using an electric starter.

It is when it is cold that it doesnt start. It starts good when it is warm.

How are you stopping it? Do you run out the tank, or pull off the fuel line from the carb? If so, you migt not be getting it primed enough when re-starting. Just because you see fuel around the carb barrel doesn't mean there's enough in the engine to fire right up. Doesn't this engine like to start wet?

The more details you can provide, the better.

The engine is mounted at a 45 degree angle so when I prime it I can feel Ton of fuel on my finger. I actually tip the plane on its wing so the engine is upright and it hopfully enters the engine. I cant feel any firing when I try to start it. This leads me to think it doesnt have fuel in it but I prime it a TON!

Are you using an electric starter or a stick?

Be careful, overpriming means a lot hard to start.I think you should feel your engine s priming needs. Not much, not less.

I have had many Super tigres over the years and every one was hard to start the first time out for the day. The only way I get them started is to use a starter on them the first flight of the day. I don't think they draw enough fuel. After the first flight they will start with a finger.
Good Luck

Even the best engines can sometimes be a challenge to start. I don't do "sticks" except on the very large glows.

Your engine angle prevents alot of the prime geting in the engine and not on the ground. I always put my finger over exhaust tip to force fuel to carb. When engines get inverted you will appreciate elec starters. Alot of cowled planes you can't get your finger on carb inlet.

Super Tigres like to be juicy for the first start of the day or when they have cooled off. Glow driver disconnected, throttle wide open, finger over carb, rotate prop until engine sounds juicy, close throttle unitl just cracked open, attach glow, back flip and enjoy.
