Hey fellas. I scored an unrun ST S25 ABC aero engine from eBay. It doesn’t come with a box or paperwork. Does anyone have a manual and parts list for the S25? I’m trying to find out whether the S25 and S29 use the same conrod. I am replacing a ringed S29 with the S25 ABC and will be selling the S29. I have a couple spare NIP Bowman rings and a new conrod for the S29; but if the rod fits the S25 too, I’ll keep it as a spare for the S25.

I just received a couple of ST engines in the mail.
one is a .45S ABC. I have a .45S ringed and it is a great engine.
The other is a G60 Blue Head ABC (i assume)
I know there is a few variations of this engine and wondering the exact one i have. It has 5 exhaust ports. See pics.

Both engines are jewels, however the blue head G60 is a cross scavenged design with a ringed piston in a steel liner and the piston will have a reflector baffle on top. Good running engines, but a tad less powerful compared to modern Schnürle scavenger designs. The S45 ABC is a strong engine that’s made well. I had a ringed S45 and it was very powerful considering how old it was. My ringed S45 ran 14,500rpm or better on a 10x6 APC and 5/20 fuel. I much prefer the ABC designs myself, but the ringed engines run well too. They just can’t be run as hard (rpm-wise) as an ABC.

I have the old World Engines original catalog with parts list at home. I will look it up this weekend and post a scan if that helps.

That would be super. I will probably keep the S29 anyway, but it would be good to know whether the 29 and 25 use the same rod. I’m gonna get the 21, 25, and 29 all use the same rod and likely the crankcase is the same for all three aside from different bores for the liner in the case.

I bought it direct from Maloney at WE. It was from an intended S-36 stunt engine. Same case as S-40. Not sure if they ever made it to production but he had a very few of the liners as they went right into the S-40 cases IIRC.

The S36 is one I’d not heard of. Good to know they did exist, but perhaps in limited production; that is if it made it beyond prototyping even. Was that liner chromed on the outside of the liner too? I never did find out why my S25 liner is plated inside and out.
