Default Thrust Question

I have a friend who has a K&B .48 that turns a APC 12.24X3.75 prop at 12,300 RPM. We calculate the thrust to be about 10 LBS. With the figures that we are given from Saito we get that the .48 is producing more thrust than their .91 or 100. Could anyone confirm this or prove it wrong? Please help as my friend does not want to spend money for the Saito if he is getting more power from the .48.
Thanks

That motor should be with a 11X7 turning 14500 at least, unless still breaking in,turn up the wick on your K&B. This engine should make 2 hp with a good dose of nitro.

Those numbers seem very low. I've read about many .46 FX's spinning a 12.25 x 3.75 around 14,000.

I think your thrust calculation is a little high. I did a quick run through and show that the thrust for that prop and RPM should be about 6.15 Lbs. Of course this is a theoretical number and would vary depending on altitude, temp and humidity.
Cheers.

We are using the ThrustHP calculator I downloaded from:http://freespace.virgin.net/barry.hobson/
