Default Engine Building

I'm interested in building a Glow Engine, not a model engine but infact a true RC Engine (maybe a .40 or .46), and would like to know if anybody has tried it before. I would appreciate any help on designs or ideas or even just where to get help. I am an Engineer living in South Africa with a newly found passion for model engines and would like to try and build an engine that is capable of actually running in a model plane and not a Bench model. This is currently what I'm looking at [link=http://manuals.hobbico.com/osm/46ax-manual.pdf]http://manuals.hobbico.com/osm/46ax-manual.pdf[/link] or at least something in that line

Any and All help will be Welcome
Thanks

Default RE: Engine Building

I am intrested in making one too. I have been pondering on getting a lathe/ mill combo machine for this. I think I wll try to duplicate the OS FSR type because of the seperate crank and piston housings for ease of machineing. I am realy interested in four strokes and looking at both these designes to start with.

I think the single made a little bigger would work and I would like to make the radial for small WW1 models.
