Hey all!! I just bought the Hangar 9 Cap 232 .40. I am looking for a good .91 size 4-Stroke engine.
Money is a little problem. If the Saito would be a better choice and have more power and less weight than the Magnum .91 FS, then I would go with the Saito.
Now, here's my question: I want this Cap 232 to be able to hover and do 3D aerobatics with plenty of power behind it.
Would you guys recommend the Magnum .91 4-Stroke, the Saito .91, or the O.S. .91 engine. I would buy these engines brand new from a dealer here in Hays, KS. Please advise. I would really appreciate any help or comments you could possibly give me.

I would put the Saito 72 in it. Run a 13-6 prop and 30 Heli fuel. It'll turn about 10,500 on the ground.
A Y-S 63 would be nice too.
If you are going to use a OS 70 which weighs as much as the 91's you listed, you will have to put the servo's in the tail to try to balance it.
The Magnum 91, though a nice easy starting engine, it does not have the power of a OS 91 Surpass II or the Saito. It compares with the older OS Surpass I. The Saito 100 out does all these.
Enjoy,
Jim

Both engines have about the same power but the OS 70 Surpass II, While a fine engine, is in a 91 style crankcase and weighs a lot more.
The Saito 72 or Y-S 63 would better choices.
The OS 70 Surpass I is not an engine you would be interested in for your purpose.
You might as well go with the OS 91 Supass II. It weighs the same as the OS 70 Surpass II.

The H9 Little Cap 40 does real nice with the Y-S 63. There is one at the field that the guy will fly knife edge all around this way and that. It also has excellent vertical.
But there is no reason why a Saito 72 wouldn't work well too.
You should consider what kind of deal you can get on which one and which one looks the nicest to you.
Which engine has more power is often debated. But there is no doubt that the Y-S is superior in the throttle abilty area.
The E-mail to me about your last post went to my junk mail for some reason? I just found it.

I have the same plane running with a saito .65 and man im disappointed. Its got a 12X6 prop and its ok for sport but for hovering and torque rolls, go with the .91. Just build strong and throttle down on the dive. Oh yeah by the way... your gonna need an engine mount as the one supplied with the kit didn't fit my saito .65. just plug the holes and drill new ones for the new mount your gonna buy. Great flying plane, though. Hope this helps
