Hi all I am looking for a person that can make me a custom Header for my EZ Dago Red. I would like to run a old new in box YS 61 FR Rear exhaust Long Stroke 2 stroke. The engine mounts inverted in the Dago Red and this is an original one so I dont want to cut it up. But I bought a new Macs Fuse Top Header and Macs 10cc Long Stroke pipe. In the hopes that the header would clear the fuselage bottom and then I could run the Macs Quite Pipe under the plane and mount it to the bottom of the wing and just zip tie it to the mount. Well the Macs Fuse Top header does not have enough rise to clear the bottom of the firewall and fuselage so I cant run the pipe. Does anyone know of a custom Header maker that can make me a header to work with this plane? I just bought a new fiberglass cowling that I will match the paint to the plane and paint the cowl so I would really hate to turn the engine sideways, Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Viper

Unless Macs has stopped making custom headers, they will make anything you like. Just give them the dimensions needed and they will whip it out for you. The last time I called them, they made me a custom header for only a couple of $'s more than one of their stock items.

I've been that route with Mac's and the asked me "how many hundred of em' I would like..." Then they said they would make a custom header but it would cost a fortune.
Write to Paul at Just Engines or check out their website. Paul has a company that would make me a custom header for about $35 bucks. Not bad at all!
Good Luck,
Ernie

Hi Ernie are you talking about the Just Engines that is located in England this one here http://www.justengines.unseen.org/
And they made what you needed and then shipped it to you from England. I was looking for someone a little closer too home but if you say that they work well than that may be the way to go. They are on vacation till the end of the month so I cant get it made anytime soon.
Thanks Joe

Hi Joe - Yep, folks have things sent over here from England (Just Engines) all the time. It's not quite the "great deal" it used to be since the value of the dollar has fallen so drastically. It is still a good alternative way to go though on some things like ASP and Irvine engines along with all the unusual pipes and headers that they have. Some things just cost a fortune right here because the importers or manufacturers think they have a monoply. It does take a Visa card to do business with Just Engines. Between Visa and the bank a 3% "overseas" transaction fee will usually be added to the total bill. Good luck!
PS - did you find anyone home here at Mac's? Others have said they wouldn't answer their phone.

Help Guys, I need someone that can make me a custom header for my EZ Dago Red and YS 61 Rear Exhaust Long Stroke engine. I called Macs today and by chance got someone and they told me that the could no longer make single custom headers.
I have already bought their Fuse Top Header but it does not give me enough clearance to run the header over the bottom of the fuselage and out to the wing so I can attach my Long stroke Quite pipe. I really hate to chop up my new Fiberglass cowl that I will paint to match the plane and mount the engine on a 90 degree angle. And run the pipe down the side of the plane. I would like to run it below the wing so it wont be seen. Does anyone know of a custom header maker that can help me. Please :disappoin I need help I am sure someone makes headers besides the place in England thats closed. Someone in the USA has to do it.
Thanks for any help.

Joe, if you have a header that fits the engine but doesn't fit the plane..... take it to a machine shop that is set up for working with aluminum tubing. I'm assuming that the assembly is aluminum.... Make some calls. Where there is a will there is a way. Let us know what you find out and good luck!
