The Saito 50 and 56 were derivitives of this motor. The parts just might fit, You need to call Horizon Hobby and find out.

CALLED HORIZON HOBBIES. BACKPLATE FOR A SAITO 45 IS
NOT AVAILABLE. BACKPLATE FOR 50 & 56 HAVE DIFFERENT CARBURETOR MOUNTING. I MAY TRY J-B WELD TO REPAIR THE CARB MOUNTING TAB ON THE 45 BACKPLATE.

WOULD PREFER TO FIND A REPLACEMENT BACKPLATE.

Default Saito 45 Backplate

Those things some times broke on there own! Made one years back out of an aluminum angle, lots of cutting & filing but it lasted until I sold the engine. Held it on with the two top cover bolts, maybe had to get longer ones, been a long time ago but it can be done. Just to let you know .>>>>>>>big max 1935>>>>>>>>>

Default RE: Saito 45 Backplate

I broke the carb mount on the back plate of my saito .45 mkII. The backplate for a .50 seems to fit perfect where all you have to do is drill and tap a hole to fit the carb of the .45 and bolt it down from the top with a 4-40. I bought a .50 backplate for around $3 where given the price, I bought two incase I messed up modifying the first one. I really hope this helps all those needing this discontinued part.
