I purchased a used ST G75 that was made in Italy with the original round muffler.
Can anyone tell me approximately where to set the main needle valve to fire this engine. Also the idle adjustment settings?
What fuel would be best to use.
It is used but in in very good shape.
Thanks so much,
DAV

On my G75 with a 11 x 7 prop, I start at 2.5v turns out on the high speed needle using a 5%, 50/50 castor/ syn. oil mix. I would run the engine before messing with the idle needle and then see just what adjustment it needs. If you don't have any idea about the idle adjustment, try this.
Turn in the idle needle shut, attach a piece of fuel tube to the carb and with the high end needle set and the carb barrel just open ( with about the dia. of a modelling pin showing) blow through the fuel hose while slowly opening the idle needle.
As soon as you hear air escaping though the carb barrel, stop opening the idle. This should give you a good starting place. After you get the engine running with the high end tuned, you can use the "pinch test" to fine tune the low end. HTH
