Lost an elevator on a 4* 120 w/ Saito 150. Unbelievably, only a few hrs of damage to the plane.
The engine pulled the firewall and fuel tank out the front of the plane and never even broke the prop or scratched anything on the engine.
Plane is now repainted and except for a new canopy , is ready to fly.
Before the wreck, there was great deal of back pressure on the compression stroke when turning over by hand.
Now, Im concerned because the compression doesnt seem to be there consistantly. I may turn the engine 12-15 or more times before I find resistance.
I havnt fueled the tank yet, waiting for the paint to cure a little more.
I did choke it by hand, I guess it didnt help because theres no fuel.
This is a new engine and if someone doesnt mind, please tell me theres nothing that can possibly be wrong and its all in my head.
Thanks

Flap,
there may just be some dirt or some kind of small obstruction in the valves. Happened to my new Saito 180. Some fuel in the valves and it dislodged whatever was in there. I almost sent it back because I couldn't figure out what was wrong. If a valve is open there goes compression.
