Compare old OS engines
Hello Engine Guys: How do the OS FSR series engines compare to the OS F series engines made in the mid 80's. I would appreciate your opinions and experiences with these engines. Thanks You are always helpful.

RE: Compare old OS engines
All were nickel as far as I know, I have a few examples of the .61fsr and one .61sf. They all are very nice engines. I have enough spare parts to keep my small fsr fleet going for years. The SF engines are getting more scarce, although they can still be found fairly easily on *bay and RCU.
If you find a deal on a nice one, they are worth using despite the fact that parts may be hard to find.

Which had chrome liners and which had nickel?

The FSR (and SF) 'ABC' engines were really ABN.
There are a few engines made by OS that do sport true ABC construction, but they are far between.
The OS.46VX DF/M is one of them.
