Default Which Fox should I get

I had a FOX45BB in a DeBolt T-Craft... one of the better engines I have had (Very Powerful)..I am gonna use it in the Sig Fazer I am almost done with. I trust the engine and love the sound it makes when it is throttled down.

Default Fox45BB and MCM

Just a note.... flew my Sig Fazer for the first time with Fox 45BB and Mousse can Muffler ... With 15% Nitro / 18% Castor... 11x4 Master Airscrew... a whopping 21,500 R's I cant fly this thing but half throttle for fear of ripping the ailerons off in a manuever.

I will try to post pics at a later date

Default 21k RPM ? waz the prop chopped?

those are some amazing numbers - did you verify this with more than one tach? as 21k it must sound like a pissed off T-MAXX!

I have found all my time taken with family related activities and have not had a chance to even start my Fox-50 mounted on the kwik-fly. I did put a Mac pipe on it, looks real nice with the Fox spinner on the nose.

Check out
http://www3.bc.sympatico.ca/fliteline/

and see what these guys have to say about Fox's.

I run a .40, .45 R and a .74R. (Bought them a few years back to see what Fox's were like) alongside Super Tigre's and MVVS's.

The big Fox ran like a dog until I had a buddy knock up a new head button according to the design they posted on the fliteline site.

Problem solved. (It outperfoms my Super Tigre .75R.) I am interested in getting one of the new twin needle carby's for it as well.

My .45R runs like a swiss watch. Set and forget!

The .40ABC Deluxe with air bleed carby was finicky, but I fitted a new Fox Twin Needle carb (on the advice of the guys at fliteline) and it solved the problems.

Fox.40? Ahhhhhh...my heart palpitates!

The Fox .40 Lapped piston is my favorite r/c engine of all time and I don't give a rat's ***** what anyone has to say about it.

Lighter than most any other .40 sized engine and more powerful than all but a tiny handful.

carb issues over the years, but a Fox has always been a motorheads engine...NOT for the "write a check" modeler.

Most problems that people have with a Fox stem from an inability to follow instructions. If you can read with comprehension, then you will LOVE a Fox .40!!!!

Default I have 3 Fox engines now

(1) a NIB 74 from the late-80's or early 90's with the twin needle carb. I have had the Flightline head button made up for it and am looking for an airplane to mount it on. I'm thinking an Ultra Stick or possibly some other Fun fly. I may even think about an old-school style pattern ship like a kaos.

(2) Fox-50 with a full lenth Mac pipe mouned on my Kwik-Fly 40. Haven't flown it yet, perhaps in another week if I get the time to finish a few details. this one has the air-bleed carb :-(

(3) Fox-Q -- interesting engine. I'm thinking a skat-cat or scooter or ?? Not too much info about this engine yet.

I do think that fox as a good, well machined feel to them. As I get to know these engines I'll relate the experience to RCU forums. The Fox-50 will be the first since it's mounted and basically ready to fly. I need to put a pressure tap on the pipe and make sure the kwik fly is balanced properly, the try it out.

LOL, I think your tach may need to be calibrated. If it can actually do those R's then you have a true monster there!

Default Fox trade in Deal

I plan to buy a FOX 74 soon and a call to the Fox factory reveled that they have a trade in offer similar to MECOA! You send in a engine and they take 50% off the list price making the prices in line with other engines in their class.

by a hp 40 as they are light and fast. I have one that is made up from parts of three . It is a bushed engine and I tested it agaqinst series of fox 40's and 45's as well as OS fsr and sr and OPS and super tigre 40 and 51.All on the same day same fuel and a 10x6 master airscrew. Here in Florida hot and humid and it turns up to 15,200 and none were even close.
