I know everybody gets sick of the same old stuff and i have looked at other threads on here and they all have different opinions, so i figured i would ask for myself, i have a 46 NT and it idle's nice and low and runs great......except....the other day i was at full ground speed and lifted off the ground to a height of about 10 foot and the thing just died, i did the test where you hold the plane vertical and it rev's like its supposed to and did the pinch test and it rev alittle then dies, what else could it be the?? the clunk is moving freely and im going to try a different plug tommorow but in the mean time does anyone have any suggestions???? please any would greatly appreciated.

You should notice right away that the engine starts and is ready to go full throttle without having to burn out the excess fuel down in the crankcase. That makes them seem to need to warm up some. You should see a power increase. If you put a Tower's muffler on that engine you should see around an extra 1000 RPM. A hotter plug and the Tower's muffler changes this engine quite a bit.

I see now that Hangar 9/Horizon has released an "E" plug made for their Evolution 2 strokes...it looks just like a 4 stroke plug
The stem looks like a (I think ) Fireball? (what were the old Hobby Shack plugs called? )

so tower makes a muffler for the evoulution 46 or just a universal one?? Another ?? The A3 plug i have looks like the top coil of the spring isnt gettin hot does that mean the plug is bad, i would test it but its 7 in the morning and i dont think the neighbors would like that to much??!!

That's the way most glow plugs look with the one coil not so bright.
It just so happens that the exhaust bolt pattern on the Evolution is a standard one that is common with the OS 40-50, Magnum 40-52, Tower 46, & GMS 47 engines.
So this leaves you with a lot of muffler choices.
