I need to know what the most reliable glow plug is for the tower hobbies .75.
i'm using the ST plug "S8I"..which is a long reach and is also the one that comes installed in the TH.75.

Flyboydave also uses the K&B1L which is also a long reach, and i've tried it as well, and it works perfect with this engine, but you have to get them from K&B.

http://www.mecoa.com/acc/glowplug/glowplug.htm

i've tried the Tower and the OS #8 which are short reach plugs.......both changed the idle transistion for the worse.

the TH .75 heads are set up for long reach plugs.........makes no sense to use short reach plugs.

Here's what Tower says.....

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXUR78&P=ML

"REQUIRES: Glow Plug: Tower R/C Long or OS Max #8 recommended"

But here's the URL for the Super Tiger plug

This is from the Tower's Hobby website regarding their .75 engine:

REQUIRES: Glow Plug: Tower R/C Long or OS Max #8 recommended

here we go again.......here is the link to the Tower plug,
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...p?&I=LXJA89&P=

and yes, i had to buy one to find out it is a short, as is the OS#8.
when an engine head is set up for "long" reach plugs, it is pointless to use "short" reach plugs.

you didn't say what plug you were using in your Tower .75.........................i'm stating out the facts from being an actual user of this engine, and for the record, Tower has recommendations on quite a few accessories that are not right. but go ahead with your advice............

hey and here is the link to the Super Tigre .75 which in the tech section says it includes the Super Tigre plug, but in the accessories section of the same engine, it says "accessories needed", and lists the Tower glow plug............(and again, it's a short reach plug)....................go figure

The Tower and OS 8 plugs are not short plugs

But they are not long plugs either. Sorta in between

My flying friend uses a OS because the Super Tiger plug burned out during break in,

The engine is not critical to fuel or plug

Seems unfortunate that only OS plugs are marked with type. I have about 50 plugs that are not in the original packaging. It takes forever to test an engine with an unknown glow plug.
