Rod /Crank-Pin Clearance??
How much clearance should a connecting rod and crank-pin have. Recently I took the backplate off a Super Tiger 61 and was watching it as I moved the piston through the compressin and it appeared to have quite a bit of clearance. The engine runs fine and I know an engine that doesn't have a pressurized lubrication system needs more clearance. This engine just seemed to have more than the average engine. I guess I will just run it till it want run anymore and that may be a while.

RE: Rod Flywheel Pin Clearance??
I've noticed my K&B's had a lot more rod big end clearance than my Saito's.
My personal observation is that you will normally see the oil changing sides when you rock the pin back and forth in the rod.
Clearance seems to be in the .ooo5" to .002" range.
When problems develop, the hole tends to elongate in these engines. Therefore you want to make sure that the hole is round.
