....it's a Special Edition engine. I've seen those go for $200.00 new in the box. [sm=thumbup.gif]

You don't see the "specials" often. The regular 60/61 FSR's go for $125-150, NIB.

Yes, it's an O.S. Max .61 FSR Special Edition. I managed to snag one that's still NIB. It's not leaving my possession any time soon. The advertiser has it wrong about being a long-stroke engine. It's not. It preceded the long-stroke series of engines.

....honestly, I wouldn't take a chance on a used non ringed engine. There are
plenty of ringed ones around....and some of them NIB.

These are no more than an OS61FSR with a gold anodized head and a case that says special edition on it. Powerwise they are the same. I'm pretty sure they only came as an ABC type. Be difficult to find a ringed one. You could put a regular 61FSR piston and cylinder in it but what's the point. As a collector it wouldn't make much difference. If you are going to use it, save your money and buy the standard 61FSR. I have a couple of new ones I picked up back in the late 80's when they came out.
