Default Compression- Nitro Amount

Just got a new packet of head gasket/shims for my Webra 120. It came with 3 different thickness gaskets. I only use 5% nitro for this engine. I'm thinking that I should use the thin gasket for low nitro fuel? Right ?

I'd tend to agree...
I have a Webra 1.20 but have never messed with the shims.
Give it a try...I don't think you could hurt anything, except maybe a plug or two.

If i remember correctly; For high nitro applications you need to lower the compression (thin gasket) to avoid detonation, and for low nitro app. use the original or thicker gasket to raise compression.

When you change gasket thickness or numbers, you actually change the compression ratio. If you increase the gasket thickness, you increase the area in the combustion chamber and that lowers the compression ratio. And if you remove them, you're increasing the compression ratio. Hard to keep it straight.
