Default Head problems

Sorry to hear your tale of woe.

Why the need to heat up in oven ? It's been my experience that a Phillips screwdriver or Allen key used judiciously is suitable for the job.

after the first screw started to strip i thought that heating it up a little might free the rest of the screws up.

For what it's worth, my experience is that ball drivers tend to strip the head easily while conventional allen keys (without the ball) grip better.

I feel your pain. Yesterday I spent 2 hours removing a stripped oil drain plug from my lawnmower engine.
