Has anyone experienced trouble with the little red hose that comes with the pump? everytime I push it on the nipple it lasts 1 flight and then cracks at that point. I need to replace this hose with something more sturdy, does anyone have an idea of what I can use? I don't think fuel line will work.
thx

So with the fuel line method, you put the red hose inside the fuel line hose, leaving just a bit of fuel line hose longer than the red hose on each end, and you use this extra piece to put it on the nipple?

You got it. I also use the needle nose plier method to get it over the red hose, works fine. If you leave about 3/8 to 1/2" hanging off it will fit over the nipple. True vacuum tubing would also work fine.

If it has to make a tight bend, why not replace it with a peice of bent brass tubing, and slip the fuel tubing sleeves over both ends of the brass tube. I am setting one up now... I might try that myself.

If you got it inside the fuel tubing an inch that should be more than enought.
Lets make this easy. Get a set of needle nose pliers, the thinner the jaw ends the better. Shove a piece of fuel tubing over the jaw ends of the pliers about an inch. Spread open the pliers and insert the red tube into the opened up space. Release the opening tension on the pliers and pull out. Cut fuel tubing 3/8 to 1/2" past the end of the red tube. Takes all of 45 seconds.

no problem guys thanks. I've just done it and you're correct - took no time at all.
One last question: I'm running this on a 4stroke 91 and I have no idea where to set the pressure regulator hex on the top of the pump. Is there some tried and tru method of determining where to set it? Or maybe a rule of thumb on how many threads should be showing on it?
Thanks again guys.

David, don't adjust it at all till you try running the engine and makeing adjustments at the carb. More than likely the low end will be too rich, even after you lean out the highspeed needle. If you just can't get the carb needles right only then would I adjust on the pump. I think turning the screw clockwise pumps more fuel. dont't forget that you will need to disconnect hte pressure line coming off the muffler and let the tank breath naturally.
