MVVS 91 carb
Hi!
I have one MVVS 91 GFS/R with a standard carb. This is the same carb that is used on the much smaller MVVS 49. I'm afraid that this carb is restricting the airflow on the 91. Is there a bigger and better carb for the MVVS 91? And where can I buy one??
I'm looking for more power!

Yall, unless your engine has one of the smaller 7 mm carbs it should run great the way it is. My .91 has the carb with the HS needle at the back of the carb and the rotating disc LS adjustment.

Hi!
As I wrote in personal mail to you, the MVVS 15cc engine is delivered with a 8mm carb as of now. 8 years ago the 15cc engine was equipped with a 10mm "butterfly valve " carb , but this was to expensive to manufacture so MVVS stopped making them.

Yallaair,
Some of my customers have had good experience, with swapping the normal 8 mm #3219 carburettor, with the 9 mm #3219Q carburettor.
This is the carburettor that is used on the Quickie .40 engine and it works much better than the normal carburettor, in case you are using a Perry pump (with the tank on C/G).
It does add a couple of hundred RPM, but not overly so, because this engine is designed to run very well at a lower RPM, compared to some other .91 engines; in the interest of retaining flying sites...
High RPM noise is more objectionable, so this engine is a definite 'torquer'...

RE: MVVS 91 carb
Thanks for info!
Now I'm even more interested in getting a 9-10mm carb for my MVVS 91! A gain of a couple hundred RPM's is just what I need!! I normally run this engine with a 13x8 prop and gets 11150 RPM with the standard MVVS long tuned pipe.
Any ideas where I can buy one?? Specially the 10 mm butterfly carb looks interesting!

Any particular reason why you need those extra 200 rpm??[sm=biggrin.gif][sm=biggrin.gif]
I guess it is because you want to chatch up with my tuned ASP 91[sm=lol.gif][sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

Yallaair,
The #3222(?) butterfly carburettor has not been offered by MVVS for many years. They have none in stock.
The #3219Q has been discontinued lately, with the discontinuation of many of theie glow engines, including the Quickie...
They might still have a few of those in stock, though.

RE: MVVS 91 carb
My last order, none 9mm carbs were delivered.
If you want the 15cc to go up in rpm, it needs more than just a larger carb. Get out your dremel tool, and restore scavenging passage flow to larger cross sections as well.
The engine is a beauty with the 8mm carb. Fit a large prop and let it show what it can do.

RE: MVVS 91 carb
Hi!
T'day I tested my new carb on the mvvs 91. I went from a 8mm to a 10 butterfly carb. I got an increase of 400 RPM on a 13x8 and an incredible increase of 600 RPM on a APC 14x6. Maybe this increase can be related to the flowporting and trimming of the piston, but anyway, a rock steady 11700 RPM on APC 14x6 is quite good. Throttle response became noticeable better.

Yallaair,
I sold several #3219Q 9 mm carburettors (the Quickie carburettor) to those who use this engine in F3A competition here (in Israel).
The results were the same, with better part throttle fuel control as well (with the Perry pump and the fuel-tank on C/G).
An APC 14x6 prop @ 11,700 RPM, is a very impressive 2.38 HP - Jett like performance.
