Idle mixture screw setting for OS 61FX?
Hi,
I crashed my Trainer plane last weekend, but fortunately the RC gear and engine still is OK.
That means, the OS 61FX was filled with grass and mud, but after I had it cleaned externally, I took it apart and cleansed everything with petroleum. I have now assembled it again, oiled it everywhere, and it now turns smoothly again , by hand! Meaning I have not yet restarted it.
Now, I did unfortunately turn out fully the idle mixture screw, that according to the Manual is factory set to its optimum, and should not be touched.
Do anyone in here have an idea of what is the optimum setting, and/or how I can get there?
Best Regards,
Anders

Don't have the manual right here but when I don't know the settings, I try to set the tip of the low speed needle about 1mm from the spraybar or fuel tube opening at WOT. That usually is close enough to work with most of that type carb.
That shoud be close enough to get you running so you can tune it from there.

Per the instruction manual, you close the throttle until the throttle barrel just closes. You then turn the idle mixture needle clockwise until it stops. Do this gently! Then turn it counter-clockwise 1/2-turn.

Yes, I know that the manual says that the throttle barrel should be closed, and then slowly turn the needle clockwise.. etc.
But I would just expect, that closing the throttle barrel completely, wouldn´t the engine stop then, irrespective of needle setting?
