My engine keeps on over heating and it gets so hot it unsoders the red power wire. PLease help.

Get more air through the cowling. Make sure at least 1/2 of the cooling fins are exposed to air, and then make an air exit 3 times as big as the opening. Richen it up too.

What??? I don't understand what you are talking about. How do i do that. My Car is a RC10B3 by Team Associated.

Sorry, thought you were an airplane guy. In that case, richen it up alot more, and make sure you have an air opening in the body of your car the size of the engine head, and an air exit in the back of the engine that is about 2x bigger than the engine head. Your body won't look as pretty, but at least your engine will run.

The engine hags out the back it not even by the body. Anyone else have any suggsetions.

Yeah, richen it up. Don't the car guys use the raytec guns and the little onboard temp sensors to tune their engines?
Take your car to the local track and they'll show you how.......

Is it an electric?

Overheating is often a sign of "wrong gearing", overloading the motor.

Change to a smaller pinion or a bigger spur to solve the problem. You will have better acceleration and a slightly lower top speed (or slightly higher if it is geared way too high now)

If it runs on batterys it's called an electric MOTOR. Gas or Nitro powered is called an ENGINE. There is a car section that can answer you questions better. But I think Sandal hit the nail on the head. Also make sure the MOTOR is OK. Take it apart and inspect everything. You could have the timing advanced too much also.

My car is still over hheating i have a smaller pinion and it is still overheating. Could the resistors be bad.

It must be the motor. Do you have another one you could try? You could have damaged it when it over heat. Take it apart and look at the windings. See if they are shinny or black. Also check your brushes and the part that they touch. Make sure the surfaces are clean and smooth. It's not good if you see that they are pitted. Your hobbie store should have a electric motor cleaner. Buy some and clean everything.
