Default GMS parts compatability

Does anyone know if the GMS .40 and .47 carbs are the same? Looking at Towers site, the both share the same dimensions. I need a new carb for my GMS .47, but they are out of stock. They do have limited quantities of the .40. I thought I might grab one if it will fit the .47, and not affect the performance.

I don't know directly the answer to your question about size. But thinking about it, the 47 is probably just a bored out 40. So the carb is probably the same. And since it has a needle valve, you probably would only need to enrichen it slightly to compensate for the extra fuel required of the larger bore.

Yes, I'm pretty sure it is. Externally, all dimensions are the same. But they may have done something silly with the carb, like given the .40 a smaller throat diameter or something.
