ASP .65 FS Need some help..
I had an asp .65 fourstroke NIB that I traded to my buddy, but it won't run. He had it mounted inverted at first and it ran, but only put out 7800 rpm with a 13x6 prop. Then it got to where it won't even start. I believe that the fuel tank height had something to do with it but he mounted it right side up and it won't start. I haven't seen his setup but I would like to help him get this engine to run. Any suggestions?? Also, what settings for the HS and LS needles?
Thanks
Thanks

With the throttle barrel all the way open, close the idle valve until it seats and then back it out 1 1/2 turns. The HSN is also 1 1/2 turns out.
The engine needs to be run-in with fuel containing 20% castor oil. I'm talking from hands-on experience with ASPs. During running-in the HSN should go from 2~2 1/2 turns out to around 1 1/2 turns when fully run-in.
Be sure to run it through at least 2 liters of fuel before getting it in the air

The 65 has not been made for close to 8 years. A valve may be sticking due to the engine setting around for so long.

How would we go about fixing that if it were the case?

Thanks for the suggestions. We have changed glow plugs and set the needles but it still won't even fire at all. We'll give the valves a look and see if that is the problem
Are there any parts available for this engine?

Hi!
Are you suer you are using an OS F glow plug and spinning the engine in the right direction (Counter clock wise seen from the prop)!?
Open the high speed needle so you see the fuel is entering the carb!

Thanks guys- problem has been solved. The little screw that holds the rocker assembly down had backed out. Tightened that down and now the engine runs like a champ.
Thanks for your helpful suggestions!
