Can you get Magnums in New Zealand if so i'd go for their 91. I plane on getting one for my Pattern plane and a couple of the guys at the field like them. If not from what I've read here in the forums OS are good especially if it's your first 4 stroker.

You should give the Satio 100 a look before narrowing it down to just the TT or OS .91 engines. The satio is a very well made engine that runs like a swiss watch and it is more powerful and is definately lighter too.

I have the SAITO .91 and it runs very well. It when it is ideling you can barely here it. When you punch the throttle it is right there right now! It is a nice engine and I believe the SAITOs are the lightest of the 4 cycles.

i have never owned the tt 91 however i have had the satio and OS-91 both were outstanding morts very close in power that i could not tell a difference for my needs (a tach will show a differences, but these were on over powered fun flys so i could not tell) the satio is lighter than the os. both kick butt on 14 x 6 apc props....

BEST FOR WHAT? Your questions depends on your application and desired engine characteristics.
Saito .91 Lightest engine in class, power is less than OS and much less than TT .91
OS/Magnum .91 Both are almost identical in performance and weight. Only difference between the two is price.
TT .91 Most powerful of the bunch by about 500 rpm and sometimes more. However, it is heavier than the others and best in applications where you need nose weight or have a servo in the tail.
Saito 100: Slightly more powerful than the TT .91 A good and more powerful alternative to Saito .91
Laser 100: No nitro required or low nitro fuel required 5% max.

Hi.
From my experience the diference between the Saito and OS 91 (have both), depends on what you want to do with them. the Os will make more power with a large prop say 14x6 were as the Saito is more powerfull with a smaller prop such as 12.5x8 Bolly.

nobody has mentioned the YS 91 yet.
I'm a confirmed Saito addict, but I have to concede that the YS 91 is a really great engine if you want power. Almost all of our local warbird freaks use the YS91 and they scream about the sky!
The Saito 100, as has already been said here is a wonderful engine though. Light, torquey and incredibly smooth.

What Is The Best .91 Four Stroke????
I think most like Homebrewer and others, I have all three Saito,TT,and OS and all 3 are vary good well running engines and I'm sure if I bought a Magnum it would be a fine engine as well.
I think it's an easy choice with the quality of these engines today,
like Homebrewer its a choice between SIZE, WEIGHT, and how well it fits the models motor mount, cowl and price----not with WHO THINKS THEIR MOTOR IS BETTER.
Just my .02 worth

If price is not considered, the YS-91AC engine for performance and reliability with it's built in fuel pump, (Allows you to place the fuel tank at any height) cannot be beat. I have one on an 8 1/2 lb. Ugly stick and after a twenty foot roll out it will go vertical out of sight.
Other than that engine if I wanted to save some bucks and still get a good performing unit, I would buy the Thunder Tiger 4 st.
Another selling point for the YS is that YS performance in Nev. is readily available on the phone any time with any info that you might need.

Lets see here , the question IS .... OS or Thunder Tiger 91 ?
How in the world is Saito or YS the answer to that one ?
OS makes a very nice 91 and the quality is very good . The 91 OS is user friendly and it's only drawback is the distributor.

TT or OS?
They are both very good engines. The TT has a little more power but is a little heavier and takes longer to break in.
I'd say go where you can get the best deal, for me anyway all things being equal money talks...
Let us know how you make out with the mustang. Been eyeing that one for a while; it's a good looker, be curious how you like it.
Good Luck.

Raybow....
....If you want the Midget Mustang to go fast....The Y.S.
is the correct answer....
....the rest are all about the same. An oz. or two of
weight here....a couple hundred rpm's there....a few
bucks here and there.
For speed....it's the Y.S. For sport....take your pick of
the others....just that simple.....

What Is The Best .91 Four Stroke????
TT is heavy, OS is lighter, Saito is lightest. Ys is more powerful but very heavy. All run good. I have always wondered....YS 91 is about the power of a 120, about the weight of a 120, where's the advantage?

The TT .91will probably be your best bet with the Midget Mustang. Nothing needed to balance the airplane with this engine. I suspect if you went with a Saito, you may need to add a little lead to the nose.
For speed 13x8 prop

which of these would be the Best???
.............Nothing new . Saito is the big seller and the Saitoists come out of the woodwork in droves whenever the question comes up.
Header : Which vegetable is best?
Content :
Which veg-table is best for anti oxidant qualities , broccolli or tomato ?
Saitoist's answer : Apple unless you can afford a SAITO !
Help ???
The guy had it narrowed between two excellent engines . Confusing him with all the others is HELP ? OK !
