Turk, your engines must be unusual or your fuel is of poor quality, the Fox Miracle plug will work in any engine from a Saito .30 to a Supertigre 4500. If I have any problem with any engine I put a Fox Miracle in it and it works a Miracle.

Try nitro instead of Raki in your fuel!

The only fuel I've ever used is homebrew methanol and castor and I've yet to have any engine act up with any half way reasonable plug. I'm not fond of OS plugs because they're too short for just about all engines and even Enya plugs have the same problem although they seem to last forever
. My current favourite plug now is the Taipan 4 stroke plug which gives no rev change at all when the power is disconnected in any engine I've tried it with so far.

Is there a chart like Flyboy Dave showed for OS for the Thunderbolt plugs? Global doesn't seem to give you a lot of info about the glow plugs and where best to use them.

Turk, I run 5% nitro in all my two strokes, the Fox Miracle is the best plug for the MDS engines too.

The Sonic Tronics 4 cycle plugs are the hottest ones I have ever used, including the Thunderbolt 4-cycle and all the OS offerings.
They have been my only choice for running low or zero in engines designed for higher nitro.
Even though Sonic Tronics show the same plug in the pictures, the OS and Saito style plugs are different. The OS plug looks like an "OS-F" with the necked down portion of the threads. They both run the same.

I know that a F plug is considered hot because a four-stroke plug has to be hot because it ignites every second stroke but I have my doubts about the theory when it is used in a two-stroke. When an OS91FX is used with a tune pipe and 15% nitro without an extra head gasket it is notorious for pre-ignition and blowing plugs. Using a No.5A (or now a No.10) or an F plug does help to solve this problem. If it were so hot would it not have aggravated the problem?

Taipan 4 Stroke plug ... good Aussie gear
Often overlooked, but performs very well. My Saito 56 and 91 seem to like them.

Taipan Glow plugs are as popular as kangaroos in Australia but not in the USA.

There are also other Taipan hobby items in Ozz, such as props.

That's correct Dar - the Taipan snake is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS & EVEN MORE VENEMOUS. My neice lives in "taipan country" just inland from Cairns, she's had a few close calls from snakes lurking in unexpected places [&:] I'm off to visit her - the neice, not the snakes - in Sept so wish me luck. Then lurking in the waters around Cairns there are nasty saltwater crocodiles, marine stingers aka box jelly fish.......yep, life's a real hoot here in Oz [8D]
But seriously, I did a net search of well known (to we aussies) hobby outlets & I can't locate any Taipan Plugs either [:-] Hopefully Downunder can chime in here & point us in the right direction. Where are you Brian ?

Yep, Lion Electronics but I believe they've stopped making the Cox/Norvel glowheads now.
Oh, and the Taipan (snake) is 200-400 times more poisonous than a rattlesnake.
Bone....[link=http://www.tnet.com.au/~lion/Dealers.htm]here's[/link] a list of all Aussie hobby shops for Taipan stuff.
