My dad has a evolution 40 on his trainer. Not really a power house. It runs good for a trainer though.

If I was you I would buy a TT46 pro from Tower Hobbies I think they are about $75.00.

If your new to the hobby you might seek a little help on setting the low end. I have 2 of the TT46. It took me about 10minutes to get the low end set when I was breaking them in.. And I haven't touched them since.

With the TT46 you will be able to move it to just about any .40 size airplane. And not have to buy another motor.

I think if you bought the Evolution you would end up buying another motor for your next plane.

Its a good idiot proof engine and has very good power. The only drawback is the silly prop it comes with. Put an 11x5 on your trainer to start and when you are comfortable with more speed an 10x7 or 11x6 would work.

Default Evo engines

The new .46 NT and and .61 NT engines are not trainer engines.

The .46NT appears to be the same as their trainer engine without the prop and the weighted prop hub. I apologize for my earlier posting thinking it was setup the same way with the 3 bladed prop.

I would still get the TT46pro. Its been proven that is a great little engine. And for around $75.00 it can't be beat.

The Thunder Tiger would be a more universal engine that would come closer to fitting your long term needs.

Default So easily swayed.....

The Evolution trainer engine has proven to be a good performer when used with a conventional prop. I've not heard anything bad about 'em...

Why be a sheep when you can be a pioneer, these engines are advertised as being as good if not better than the competition in regards to power, and they should be, being a new design. If I was in the market for a new engine I'd seriously consider it.

Besides, they look cool and you'll probably make a few new friends when they come over to ask what engine it is and how does it go....

Last time I ordered something from HH they were even quicker than Tower..
