Hi all,
I'm thinking of using an ASP FS180AR four stroke engine for my new CMP P40 Warhawk 73". Originally I wanted to use a gasser but the problem with the engine mount, makes me opt for nitro engine.
Prior to purchasing it, I'd like to browse through the engine manual or instruction. But I can't find it any where. They don't have an official website, do they?

Fantastic engine, I have one
If you really want a gasser you should consider the MVVS or Evolution 26cc. They mount to your airplane just like a glow engine. I have the gas MVVS 26 too, and it has exactly the same power on a MenzS 18-6 as the ASP 180 Fs (9000 rpm) but I use a pipe on the gasser so with the Pitts muffler it would propably be a bit shy of the 180 fs. The gasser will be less expensive in the long run, although the ASP 180 Fs actually just sips the fuel when tuned correctly. When I swapped the 180 Fs for a 120 twostroke, my fuel consumtion went sky high. I only flew the 120 for a few flights and it was tuned perfect. Then I put in my MVVS gasser and it is still there (Harrier 90)

I don't know about evolution, but for MVVS26, I don't like the carby sitting up front. I'm gonna need to cut the cowl, which I'm trying to avoid...

They are the exact same engine. The specs vary from site to site and are not very accurate. My ASP weighs 1045 grams muffler and all included (weighed on a digit scale)

Displacement and stroke are the same, so the cc are the same. Magnum, ASP ans SC are the same virtually, made by Sanye in China.

Where you gonna buy it and how much??
This is the cheapest I know of: http://www.himodel.com/engines/AFS18..._Airplane.html
I only payed 250$ when I bought mine from www.peakmodel.com but prices have rised alot the last two years
Hmmm, for some reason the link to the engine doesn`t work, but you will find it anyway, you just have to click a couple of times more

There's a local hobby shop selling it at RM880.00 (about USD251.40 @USD1=RM3.3 rate) only..That is dirt cheap!!!.Unfortunately the shop is not on-line...

I'm thinking of using a perry pump to ensure a constant fuel flow in whatever position. Has anyone tried this..? Pics if possible...

Anyone knows where to find a flexible pipe for this engine.? Without it, I may have to cut the cowling to make way for the engine muffler.

EDIT: The exhaust manifold uses OS-compatible 14mm fittings on the exhaust

Does anyone know where else can I get this flex pipe for ASP FS180AR: http://www.macspro.com/four_pre.asp besides macspro. They are still using the Fax Order method, which I'm not comfortable with..
