Default Having Problems with GRP Engine

I am having some problems with my .28 GRP tuned engine.

Engine starts, runs for a little while, then cuts off and cannot be started back for a little while.

Any recommendations???

Fuel: 20% Byron

Does the engine need re-shimming for the 20% fuel?

What plug is recommended for 20% fuel?

You are most likely just running it too lean. Open the HS needle valve a couple clicks

Hello cussbud...

You shouldn't need to re-shim for 20%

If the engine is new, and the needles are still at the factory recommended settings, it could be way too rich? How much total run time is on the engine? If it's new, you might need a hot plug?

You will find much more info on the GRP in the car engines section...

ok i know cussbud & since he's having PC problems i'll help you out. His GRP engine has been broken in with 30% & will run with it. The tune is ridiculously hard to find so it's never been ran at 100%. Now due to local hobby shop not stocking 30% we have to go down to 20%. Problem is it will not start with the 20%. We even went back to the factory settings & nothing. However another club member we know got his GRP to run on the 20% but again the tune to hard to find. Both GRP are idential, both broken the same method. The plugs are GRP turbo #4 which is a hot plug. I'm a bit loss as to what to try next.

Hi!
Most likely you run it too lean! So open the high speed needle !
99% certain you ran too much nitro !!! Engines become very sensitive if you run too much nitro!
Try 5%- 10% nitro and an OS 8 or Enya 3 glow plug!

bladett, you have a PM...

Did you take a shim out when you ran it on 30%
A touchy needle suggests perhaps too much compression (for noe thing ) or too much nitro...the pipe selection plays a part in that too.
Maybe try a plug one heat range cooler and maybe one hotter?

Jaka...it's a car engine w/ a turbo plug. (Mario Rossi, and formerly known as a Ninja )

we though that the engine can setup for 30% 25% out of the box like most engines are. If we use the 30% we have engines that will run, just a matter or chaseing the tune. With the 20% it's a dead engine. hmm i was thinking of trying another play. They come for a GRP #5 which is a bit colder so maybe a hotter plug to run on the 20%
