Default Webra Mufflers

[]. Hi. Do any of you know why the old Webra 61 Black Head had a very nice bolt on muffler and the engine had provision for it, and the more modern Webra 61F Speed has no provision whatsoever, so you have to use an after market strap-on?
Thanks
Beppe

Good question. My .61BH and Speed 1.20 have bolt holes but not my Speed .61 and Speed .91. I did drill bolt holes for my Speed .61 and used an Enya .60 muffler.

The current version of the Speed .61 has a bolt on muffler...the one you have there must be a "middle" version...my guess would be 80's to early 90's?

I've drilled/tapped a few of them to the spacing of the OS 60FSR and used the OS mufflers/headers.

Pure economics. With no drilled and tapped holes and no supplied muffler. They could sell the engine cheaper.

The latest .61Fs are drilled and tapped, I too have drilled and tapped a couple of older .91s, I tap them for a Fox .74 exhuast for which there are several other mufflers that will fit. Here are a couple of examples.

Hi Hobbsy,

I just picked up a Webra 91 Speed RC engine...tis a beautiful piece of machinery! In reading through your posts you seem to be very knowledgeable on the subject of mufflers for these engines. (please take that as a sincere compliment - BTW)
I need to figure out a muffler arrangement for my engine as well. I'd like to be able to install a muffler like the Powerbox used on the OS 120AX or the 95 AX that allows multiple positioning. Would these mufflers work for the Webra 91. Obviously I need to drill and tap holes as well, which I do not have a drill press to do with.

I welcome your thoughts.

Tom
