What is this "thing"
Going through a bunch of stuff I inherited from my neighbor's collection, I came across the attached unit. Does anyone know what this thing is? Better yet, any suggestions on what to do with it (ebay??) or would it be a good doorstop. Any insight from anyone would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yup its and old automotive ignition analyzer. Could be used as a tach on 4,6 and 8 cylinder cars, Could be used to set point dwell (not much point in that any more since most cars don,t have points now), Could used to check starter current draw to check for a dragging armature and a few other electrical tests.
There was a time when every back yard mechanic was not complete without his portable analyzer but made pretty much obsolete by the wonderful technology we are comunicating on.
Not much value but who knows with passing of time. It appears to be of sixties vintage.

Gosh, I haven't seen one of those since I was a kid and used a similar analyzer on my dad's cars. No practical use for the item today. Use it as filler for the dump.

Thank you for the responses!
I obviously read the front too but couldn't figure out how it related to R/C since it was in this guy's collection.
We always took our cars to garage to have repaired....

Assuming it's still working he may have been using the voltmeter portion on batteries.... looks like a decent range of DC volts. Some folks like analog meters better than digital .... a visual thing.
