To be fair I suspect the importers/distributors are whacking their prices up by a huge amount so the LHS can only pass those increases on or go broke (I suspect many will go broke anyway).
Who knows... if this keeps up, we might have to go back to building our own planes from scratch like we used to do in the old days.
Gosh, the only planes in the club that aren't ARFs are some of mine (and they were from a kit).
My how times change.

I still build from scratch, pylon racers. Some kit pylon racers. The arfs or composite pylon racers at anywhere from $500 to $700 are way over my head. Last month I did build a little space walker from a Balsa USA kit. About a 100 perfectly laser cut parts. Kits are kind of a black market item anymore. First time I built anything but a pylon racer in 5 years. I still believe they are playing math games. I remember when the Euro came on line. Two German Marks bought 1 Euro. Do you think that the next day an item in a store that sold for 100 Marks the day before cost 50 Euros the day after. You bet.[>:] More likely they tried to get 100 Euros and grudgingly backed down to 70 or 80

2 day postal?? from the USA to Europe. Not a chance. I can't get less than 5 days from across the street from US postal and I'm not paying Fedex or UPS rates.
