Engine running rich
This is a K&B .40 non schnerle, needle valve in the carb.
Its in a midwest Aerostar .40
Full tank, initial run up on the ground is fine.
Gte it in the air and after a few minutes goes rich. Then after about 5 mins of flying it will go back to running fine till the tanks empty.
I just have the standard pressure hose connected to the muffler.
Could my fuel tank be too high?

That is possible. When it runs fine on the ground, is the plane sitting level, nose high, or ?
Another possibility is that muffler pressure (tank pressure) is varying somehow during operation. Are the lines all in good shape?
Non schnerle engines like an idle bar plug usually. Have you tried that?
