Default muffler sealiant

what type of muffler sealiant do you guys use to keep from being eat up and leaking from the fuel and hot gasses??

Default muffler sealiant

Permatex Ultra Copper high temp RTV sealant, from the auto parts store. I asked Bisson Custom Mufflers, this is what they recommended, and it seems to work pretty good. Of course you do have to (at least I have to) check the screws for tightness every clean-up, because thread-lock and split washers alone will not keep it tight more than a few flights.

Default Oodles.....

.... I use the 732 RTV for all engine joints. Yes it's clear, and yes it will withstand the high temps, and yes it's cheaper.

For a good seal use acetone to clean of the mating areas before applying the silicone sealer.
