When did Thunder Tiger go ABN?
I just recently learned that the current TT46 is ABN. Have they always been that way? I have several TT engines and all, but the ringed one, are ABC. Has TT had any problems with pealing on their ABN engines?

TT 46 ABN
I was dissapointed when TT switched to the ABN but after having three of the new ones I am more than satified with their performance. I seem to be getting more power and they break in much faster...a lot of bang for the buck! I also think they will last as long as the ABC if you run them properly. I use 10% nitro with 20% oil (syn/castor blend) and they seem to love it. I guess time will tell if they will hold up.

Thunder Tiger
Thunder Tiger is and always has been ABC. Aluminum brass and composite (nickel) with the exception of the ringed engines. Only the very first engines that were OS clones had any liner problems. Once they re designed their own engines I have not heard of any Thunder Tiger engines having peeling problems. Only a few engine manufacturers use true chrome and you can tell right away as only the cylinder bore is chrome and the outside of the liner is brass colored. All ABN (ABC type) plate both the inside and outside of the liner.

You must have an unusual Webra 50 GT as my new one is plated both inside and outside of the sleeve. When you look in an Irvine you see the brass color on the outside of the sleeve instead of the chrome shine that is inside.

...........(Thunder Tiger is and always has been ABC)..............
This is kind of confusing (to me!) because I usually think of ABC as being chrome, not composite nickel. UNLESS it is stated to be "ABC type" of engine, meaning ringless.
This wording cause me to really believe that the OS 32 SX was truly a chrome bore engine when it is not.
Thanks for your experienced views Paul....:-)
