Default OS .61SF

Hello

Im new to the site and need advice. Ive been out of RC flying for a while and want to get back in. I was going threw my old stuff and found a OS 61 SF. I would like to use it again, and want to rebuild it. I cant find any info or parts for it. Does anyone know where i can get parts to rebuild it. And what all would i need? Also I here that it can be converted to a ringed motor, Is that true? I dont know if it was or not orig.

Thanks for everones help and im excited about getting back into the air

The engine has been out of production for more than 10 yrs and parts con only be found from alternate sources.

Does the engine still have good compression? Maybe all you need are bearings?

I had that exact engine rebuilt last spring by B.J.'s Model Engine Service. They did a great job. You can find them here:

The most you would probably have to do is replace the bearings. There isn't much else that can go wrong unless it is physically broken.

I rebuilt three of them myself over the last year or so. If you need any major parts like a P/L set you'll have to be very patient and watch the auctions and marketplace.

I second RC Bearings; the best prices you'll find.

In the photo two are stock with #7L carbs. The other one has a Perry #1501 and an SK .70 muffler from Kangke which is a perfect fit and a lot cheaper than a #744B

8178,

I recognize that model because of the covering job. I've seen your pics in other threads and it is beautiful. Can you post a full sized pic here?
