Default OS .60FP

I need a liner for an OS .60FP engine. Because I am not real crazy about this engine, I am not willing to spend much money on it. I see a liner listed in Ebay for a .60GP and FGP engine for cheap and I was wondering if the liners were the same? I am not familiar with GP or FGP engines. Does anyone know if the liners are the same? Thanks

I think the liner you saw is probably for the FGR, not FGP. If so, it is an entirely different engine with no parts in common.

To be honest, unless you get lucky, it will be hard to find a P/L set for your FP.60 (the liner and piston are a matched set and not sold separately). You may have to buy a used engine for the parts. But, maybe someone here has a spare set they'll sell.

Here's one: 320359014306

Good luck.

I doubt there is anything out there that will fit a .60fp as a drop in replacement.

If you are talking about a OS .60H & .60fgr liner, these are loop ported engines and not at all similar to the schnurle ported .60fp

David, I saw that one and would be interested at that price as the very upper limit for a used FP. The problem with buying a running engine is: what is the point of taking the piston and liner out of a running engine to put in a non-running engine? I would still have the same problem, an engine that needs a liner to run.
Dude, the ad I saw for GP and FGP is 360146450169. That may be a mistake, but that is what it says. It also lists a new ring in the ad which makes me wonder if what he is selling is for a ringed something or other. The FP, of course, is not a ringed engine.
In another discussion some time back, someone measured the OD of a .60FSR the same as the FP. If I remember correctly, it was 28mm. Since both are Schnerle ported, maybe something could be done along those lines. Just a thought

Yes, the sleeves in the auction are for the old ringed, cross-flow Max-H .60. See the bridges in the exhaust port.

Even if a .60FSR sleeve would fit (which I seriously doubt), you will need a complete ABN P/L set. If you could find one it would more than likely cost more than a complete used FP.60.

I'm not trying to discourage you. But, I've been restoring old OS's over the last year or so and parts are simply not easy to locate, and when you do find them the price is usually ridiculous.

Since there are not easy to find the P/L set for your engine as i did before, see what i did with my engine when i replaced the P/L liner with a new homemade P/L set with piston ring included: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=4929500
The old engine had peeled liner.

Just buy a Thunder Tiger GP 61. You will not regret it. It is twice the quality of the OS 60 FP.
