Default old engine?

I just took apart and old asp .40 engine. this is my first time taking and engine apart. the inside is all gummed up from fuel left in it. right now i have it soaking in some fuel, but i was wondering what the best way to clean it out is, because i would like to try to get it running again soon. any help would be appreciated.

You can try a tooth brush on it after a few days in the fuel?

The accepted method is a batch in warm antifreeze in a potpurri pot for a few days.

i had scrubbed it a bit with the toothbrush, and do plan on taking it out in a couple of days, and scrubbing it again.

If its just old fuel warm anti freeze or just warm. I have a small pencil torch that I have warmed engines up with to get the old fuel soft. You don't need it hot just really warm to the touch.
