I am considering buying a .46 Irvine engine and was wondering how it compares to the OS engines.

Default ??

Any thoughts? I hear the Irvines are pretty sweet especially at idle. Nice carbs.

The Irvine 46 is a good engine. Comparable power to the OS, better carb, and true chrome sleeve so odds are it should last longer.

I have an Irvine .46 in my 4*40. It runs and performs very nicely. It's a quiet and smooth running engine and usually fires up on the first flip. Has nice torque for it's size and seems to really sip the glow fuel...

It's getting easier and easier to beat OS these days.

I love the OS 4C engines, but the 2Cs are getting really "dumbed down" and are......"boring".
