Default Chinese made Super Tiger Engines

Evening Folks:

Just did a search for info on the chinese made super tigers and the newest thing I could find was from July of 02.

So Has anyone seen one!!!!!!

Has anyone run one!!!!!!!

I hate to say it but this is exactly why I was so upset when I heard of the sale and the move. Oh Well guess if I was to have had any say in it I would have won the lottery.

Guess when I run out of tigers there's K&b and Mecoa and some others....

Anybody that's got the scoop sure would love to hear it.

Ordered the G-51 in may but it has not arrived yet. AMI or RCM/E (can't remember which) tested the G20/23 in the may issue and it got top marks.

I have run a Chinese made ST.90R. purchased by a fellow member of the club I fly at.

It was just as good as my Italian made one. Finish was up to Italian standard and it ran just fine.

Apart from country of manufacture, there was no real way to tell the 2 apart.

Remember that the Chinese ST's are coming off the same equipment as the Italian ones did and the metallurgy is the same. Just a different nationality putting the finished parts together.

All that happened in the move was that the factory machinery was dismantled, shipped to China and reassembled in a new building.

Part of the deal was that the Italian engineers went as well, to supervise the commissioning of the new factory and iron out any bugs.

And the new owners are already in the model engine game anyway. GMS!!

Purchase without fear, fellow r/c' ers.

I've been running a Chinease version of the G. 90 and absolutely love it. ONe of the best engines I've ever owned. Runs great!

I picked up a new G.45 the other day, and it looks and feels just as good (quality wise) as all my previous S.T. engines. Haven't run it yet, but bet it'll be a good runnin' motor.

The Chinese made ST's have been available in England (at least) for a year or more. Reports are that they're no different to the Italian made engines. In other words, superb

Thanks Fella's

These are the kind of response's I was looking for from folks that have actually seen and perhaps run one of the new engines. You can hope and cross your fingers all you want that the new or revived product is going to be as good as the original, but it's always nice to hear the opinion of someone with actual knowledge. Biggest reason I have for asking is availability, retailers in the U. S. have been forcasting availability dates and continually backing them off and when they do have them they have this and one and that one not the full line.
Makes a person wonder what type of problems their having when there's no information available.

Thank's for the info

The reason for the continued delay was simply the time it took for the bricks and mortar for the new factory to be laid and completed and the imported ST machinery to be installed.

Doing business in mainland China is an experience and it is common for NOTHING to ever run as planned. ( Even for the Chinese.)

It was nothing to do with the actual ST engines themselves.
