Default Problems with Enya 80 4C

Hi all!

I own a Enya 80 4C. I runned it in when it was new 10 years ago. It then sat on the shelf until last year. I then started use it in a Spitfire. Now it probably have about 8 hours of running time.

The problem is that it now has lost some compression and is spiting out a lot of brown oil thru the breathing nipple in the crank case. I have adjusted the valve clearance according to the operation instruction (0.05-0.1 mm). The engine is still running but maybe lost a little power.

What can be the cause to the problem?

Regards

Probably the piston ring is stuck due to all the varnish in it. It will probably clear up if you run the engine. Worst case, you will have to replace the ring.

Hej!

The brown stuff that comes from the engine is rust mixed with oil.
The rust comes from the ballbearings and all the other steel components in the engine.
You have to change the ballbearings....probably check that the pistonring is not stuck in the grove in the piston (old castor oil can do such things)-
At least you have to get new ballbearings!
