It’s a little more leg work and up front cost, but mixing your own glow fuel is easy and I’ve actually found my homemade fuel to run more consistently, tune easier, and have less corrosion/rust problems than I did with commercially made fuels.

Some of my engines (old SuperTigres from Italy) were designed around 0-5% nitromethane fuels. A little 80/20 methanol/castor with a 2-3% slosh of acetone and she purrs like a kitten. The exhaust note is significantly more tame on the no nitro stuff; even just 5% nitro gives the exhaust note a serious bark - especially in my ST S90.
