Drilled prop washer for OS/ASP/Magnum 160 TWIN
Hello everyone,
I wonder were I can find a drilled prop washer compatible with OS/ASP/Magnum 160 TWIN engine.
If I remember well, the prop hub has 4 holes for M3 screws.
They don't sell it togheter with the ASP engine.
No luck finding it on towers hobby.
Thank's
George

Hmmm. I have used hardened steel washers from the hardware store when prop washers have disappeared. Good luck drilling holes in a hardened steel washer though... If you're in a hurry or can't find an appropriate washer you could try making one from a heavy gauge standard washer from the store. It might work. If you go this route you may want to place a smaller hardened steel washer over top of the standard one that just fits inside the M3 screw diameter to help maintain integrity.

Thank's Jazzy, I think I'll do the same as you.
w8ye, I'm looking for the 4 holes M3 washer, not the central hole one.
Thank's to all !

Just curious here...
Why are you wanting to use that setup?
edit: almost forgot, my os 160 twin came with screw in pins, not screws with heads on them....
you still had to use the 'double nut' prop nut system.

Why looking to use the drilled washer with 4 M3 screws to hold the prop better?
Because last weekend when breaking-in the engine, the propeller flew twice over my head.
Sometimes it "knocks" and the propeller nut and the lock nut gets loose.

You are running the mixture too lean
You are running the mixture too lean
What prop are you breaking it in with?
hey? does that engine come with a two needle carb or the older air bleed carb?
just curious, I sure liked that old air bleed carb! ( the two needle carb is much more precise though..._)

The propeller is a 16 x 8.
I will try running it a bit richer. And I will change the glow sparks with OS F.
I'm not sure about the carb. If I will post a close up picture you will be able to tell what carb is ?

w8ye answered my question but thanks for replying!
Run it really really rich for the first few tanks then lean it out over the next few and it will last a very long time...
I think I broke mine in with an 18X6 before putting it on the airframe, then I went to a grapner 15X10 for flying...
1000 sq inch wing and about 9 lbs... scratch built plane from rcm plans called a hooker (enlarged to an 80 inch tail dragger )
Good luck and hope you have freat fun with your motor!
Luck, Dewayne
