I've primarily used APC and Master Airscrew props in the past. The evolution props are a bit cheaper and are crowding out the others at my LHS. I bought one to try but I haven't flown with it yet.

I bought a 12x8 and it looks lovely. No excess mold/crap to sand off and perfectly balanced. The blades are about as stiff as an APC. I'll have to flyit to be sure but at this point I'm impressed.

I've tried a couple...as have a few others in our club.
They are nice props...I'd say, like something in between an APC and an MAS.

Seem to put more load on the engine.

I am flying one on an Irvine .53 in a .60 GP Stik. Flys fine. Balanced out of the box.
I can't tell any difference between it and the 12x6 APC I was flying. I quit using MA
quite a while back.

I like the looks of the Black better than Grey.

I have used the 13x7 and the 12x6 in place of apc's. They are definetly a higher load than the apc's lugging down my engines. I would recommend propping down or sticking with the apc props. I have chosen the latter.

I use them on all my engines, though the one hobby shop that carried them in the area is stopping due to low sales volume. I would agree they are probably somewhere between an MA and APC, though certainly closer to the APC. They appear to be a carbon composite material and they are certainly more durable, in my experience, than an APC. As someone else noted, they certainly look better, IMHO, being a black prop. One of these days, I'll get a test stand setup capable of measuring thrust and compare the two. Now, if they just made an electrics series as well...

I use them on some of my smaller electrics, mainly the 10 x6 and 9 x6, in these sizes I think they are fine. In larger sizes like 11 and 12" props, I like APC and MAS better.

Where can one find the Evolution Props these days? I see that this is an older posting about this topic.

The only size I've run is a 14X6 on an OS 95AX in an AeroWorks Extra 260. That same plane has had an APC, XOAR, MA Classic, MA Wood Scimitar, and the EVO. The only ones that are close on that plane are the APC and XOAR. The XOAR is slightly better at pullout from hover and the APC is about the same as the EVO in most respects. On another plane with the OS 95AX, a Goldberg Tiger 2, the MA Classic pulls much harder from a dead stop and is slightly faster in level flight when clocked by radar. That's one I didn't see coming. I figure the increased pull down low and slow is the flex causing a lower pitch. I have NO explanation for the increased speed in the air other than somehow it just works better with the engine/airframe combination. Go figure, just when I think I have something figured out. LOL
