Backplate Gasket Replacing
Hi all, in putting a engine(and plane lol) into the ground which was soft grass, i had to dismantle engine for totally cleaning its innards , that went very well, with me being extremely careful not to turn piston etc, what did happen was in removing the back-plate , the very thin gasket came apart, Is there anyway I could make one, perhaps of some material, making a new gasket doesnt intimidate me, or scare me, its what to make it out of that does lol , I measured the thickness of damaged gasket with a micrometer , and it came out to .007 thou, almost 4 times the thickness of newspaper, which here is .002 , someone told me to make one out of cardstock, but I'm not sure what that is, and if it's paper itself, wouldn't the oil soak through it and leak?
Anyway, I need tips lol, the engine itself is a Royal .46 size
BEst Regards!!!!!

YOU CAN DUPLICATE A GASKET USING NOTEBOOK PAPER AND WORKS WELL, SIMPLY RUB A LITTLE OIL ON THE BACK OF THE ENGINE HOUSING, (BACKPLATE) HOUSING, (CRANKCASE)-AND PLACE A PIECE OF NOTEBOOK PAPER OVER THE OILED AREA AND IT WILL MAKE AN IMPRESSION OF THE GASKET, SIMPLY CUT OUT GASKET AND INSTALL!!! OR YOU CAN USE SOME BLACK SILICON,WILL ALSO WORK FINE!!!
